Restoring Traditions in Lednice

At Eisgrub, we love traditions, and that's why we've decided to bring them back to Lednice no matter what!

Home pig slaughter used to be a daily routine. Nowadays, people mostly just reminisce about it fondly. In the past, these slaughters were held exclusively during the cold winter months, when it was easier to preserve the large amounts of lard, meat, and especially products made from offal. We wanted to revive this tradition, which is no longer common today, and remind you that a pig slaughter is a social event.

Our first Brewery Pig Slaughter will take place on Saturday, January 28th, where you will learn how such an event goes, taste pork delicacies directly from the butcher, our new beer mulled wine, homemade Honza's buns, and other goodies. We will be entertained by the unique accordionist Petr Sklář, and there will be seating, a bonfire, and slivovitz to keep you warm.
And if you overdo it a bit, you can stay with us at Resort Eisgrub.

Fašank in Lednice

And now, pay attention!
Here in South Moravia, we call it Fašank, but the rest of the country knows this holiday as Masopust.
Masopust is a part of the year that takes place from Epiphany to Shrove Tuesday. It is a period full of merriment, fun, and carefreeness, where no rules or regulations apply.

We will celebrate this holiday, which comes before Ash Wednesday, on Saturday, February 18th, with the youngest Lednice youth supported by the municipality of Lednice.
Look forward to a masked parade through the village that you can join with your children, performances by the children from the Lednice youth at the brewery, cymbal music, Masopust merriment, a special weekend menu, and other accompanying programs.
The event is suitable for families with children and will be a lot of fun.

For more information about the event, check out the event calendar.

So, are you already preparing your masks?
